Basic Sandwich - but Better

I hear sandwiches can be so boring but they are super convenient and can be a quick & healthy lunch option. Sometimes I need the right sandwich to remind me that a basic sandwich HITS. This is that sandwich - literally so simple and so satisfying. Save & pack for work tomorrow!

makes: 1 sandwich

What You Need:

  • 2 slices tuscan pane bread

  • 4-6 slices deli turkey

  • 1 slice Swiss cheese

  • few thinly sliced red onions

  • 2 romaine lettuce leaves, broken in half

  • 6-8 cucumber slices

  • 1 tbsp dijon or spicy brown mustard

  • 1 tbsp primal kitchen avocado mayo

How To:

  1. Cut bread slices in half (hamburger style i.e. horizontally) and toast.

  2. For each 1/2 sandwich, spread mustard on one side and mayo on the other side. Add onion, cucumber, romaine, Swiss cheese, and turkey by layering.

  3. Serve with your favorite sides like chips, pickle, fruit, and/or veggies.
