10-Minute French Toast

IMG_9495.jpg

French toast is a regular in the Crews family. It's a fun, healthy, and delicious option that provides room to get creative with toppings. And the best part- it can be so easy & so quick! If you're not making French toast on Saturday, idk what you're doing.

What you'll need:

  • 2-3 eggs

  • 5-6 slices of sourdough bread

  • Dash of cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

  • 2 Tbsp milk

  • 1/2-1 Tbsp butter

  • Spritz of olive oil

  • Toppings of choice: syrup, butter, peanut butter, nuts, seeds, fruits, jam, compote, honey, whipped cream, etc.

How to:

  1. Warm a frying pan on the stove with a spritz of olive oil, use a low to medium temp. The olive oil will prevent your butter from burning when you add it later.

  2. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon together in a wide bowl

  3. Dip sourdough slices in the egg mix to coat the bread slices

  4. Add butter to the pan and let melt. Quickly add the sourdough slices & cook on each side until lightly brown, ~3 mins each side

  5. Serve with your favorite toppings & sides. I prefer bacon but you do you!
