The Tried & True Beauty Products I used in Preparing to be a Bride

unnamed.jpg

There are endless great beauty products out there. It’s challenging to find what’s actually going to be worth the investment- I’m not trying to clutter my cabinets with a bunch of serums or break the bank. I have to be pretty selective with my products because I have sensitive skin plus, using non-toxic products is really important to me. I don't get it perfect every time, but I've got a pretty good list of tried & true products that have become especially important in caring for myself during the engagement season. Hopefully this list will give you some ideas for inexpensive, clean beauty!

Face & Makeup

1. cocokind chlorophyll mask

cocokind.com $19

cocokind.com $19

This is my literal favorite product. You can mix it with various ingredients such as honey, yogurt, toner (I know, weird) to target any skin issue. And it gives your skin such a glow. I buy this at Whole Foods.

2. cocokind rosewater toner

cocokind.com $17

cocokind.com $17

Great for dry, sensitive skin. This toner helps to calm and balance skin. It's also going to prep your skin to soak up some moisturizer. I buy this at Whole Foods.

3. cocokind raspberry vinegar toner

cocokind.com $16

cocokind.com $16

This toner helps to control oil production and get those breakouts under control. I buy this at Whole Foods.

4. Acure Radically Rejuvenating under eye hydrogels

acure.com $4.99

acure.com $4.99

I’m not a huge fan of the Acure eye cream, but the eye mask is killer. It really makes a huge difference in dark circles and fine lines. I buy this at Target.

5. Glossier boybrow

glossier.com $16

glossier.com $16

I’m not professional at doing my eyebrows, but boy brow makes it so easy and natural looking! It’s a gel so it helps your bows stay where they belong. I buy this at glossier.com.

6. Glossier stretch concealer

glossier.com $18

glossier.com $18

I think this has been the only concealer I've ever purchased that didn’t drive me crazy. The ingredients are good, the price is fair, it doesn’t ooze everywhere and get on everything in your makeup bag, it isn’t cakey, it's easy to layer, and it’s great for under the eyes and blemishes. I buy this at glossier.com.

7. Crunchi foundation

crunchi.com $48

crunchi.com $48

This is likely the most expensive makeup I’ve ever used, but I don’t regret it. It feels so good on, blends great, and the ingredients are awesome! The fact that it’s called Crunchi makes me love it more. I buy this at crunchi.com

Body & Hair

8. Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream

burtsbees.com $5.99

burtsbees.com $5.99

This stuff is sooo good. It’ll heal a ripped cuticle in 1-2 days. I buy this at Target.

9. Acure shampoo and conditioner

acure.com $9.99

acure.com $9.99

Acure makes the best non-toxic shampoo and conditioner I’ve ever used- actually, the best hair care I've ever used. It'll be hard to get me to try a different shampoo and conditioner now. If this could be made in a bar so it's #plasticfree, I would lose my mind. My favorites are Mega Moisture and Curiously Clarifying. I buy this at Whole Foods, Target, or TJ Maxx.

10. Kristen Ess The One purple shampoo

kristenesshair.com $12

kristenesshair.com $12

This has been my favorite purple shampoo to keep brassiness at bay- it smells so good! Honestly, I've been using this and my blonde is looking great 6 months out. I didn't even need to get my hair done before the wedding! (My stylist also did a great job, though.) You won’t need this if you’re not blonde. I buy this at Target.

11. Andalou Naturals 1000 roses daily shade facial lotion SPF 18

andalou.com $14.99

andalou.com $14.99

This is my favorite face lotion! It kept my skin moisturized all winter without feeling thick and it doesn’t feel like sunscreen at all. I also love to use the CC cream as a daily moisturizer. I buy this at Whole Foods or TJ Maxx.

12. Skylar perfume

Skylar.com $20

Skylar.com $20

I love Skylar’s non-toxic scents. They aren’t overwhelming, and I love that you can purchase the trial packet to get travel-sized scents and then use that purchase toward your favorite full-size perfume. I buy this at skylar.com.

13. Vital Collagen Peptides

vitalproteins.com $25

vitalproteins.com $25

I love putting this in my coffee to give my hair, skin, nails, and joints a little boost. I’m not one for supplements, but I’ve come to really enjoy collagen peptides. No, it’s not a must, but it certainly doesn’t hurt! I buy this either on Amazon or Target.
