Bacon & Balsamic Flatbread
One of my FAVORITE flatbreads hands down. It combines all of the best flavors- arugula & balsamic vinegar are significantly underrated pizza ingredients. This pizza uses a blackberry ginger flavored balsamic vinegar from a small shop in Nashville, Garlena Garlic Company, & *praise hands* it is kiiilllller. Honestly, it is the move. Everything they make is phenomenal and they're very kind people!
What you'll need:
2 naan flatbreads
1-2 Tbsp olive oil
mozzarella, shredded or sliced
4 slices cooked & roughly chopped bacon
1/4 c red onion, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1-2 tsp honey
cashews, crushed for topping
arugula, for topping
How to:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 & prepare a baking sheet or pizza pan with a light layer of oil
2. Drizzle olive oil on the flatbreads & spread
3. Layer: a sprinkle of mozzarella, bacon & red onion, then a more generous layer of mozzarella (as cheesy as desired) on the flatbreads
4. Place flatbreads in the oven & cook ~10 mins or until cheese gets melty
5. While the flatbreads cook, mix balsamic & honey. You can add more or less of each ingredient to your taste preferences
6. After cheese is melty, remove the flatbreads from the oven & top crushed cashews & arugula. Drizzle with balsamic + honey mixture
7. Bake an additional 3-5 minutes until the arugula is a little crispy & enjoy or skip the second bake & enjoy right after adding the drizzle
